Ponyboi is an award winning thriller by River Gallo who wrote, directed, and acted in the 2019 short film, the first film to feature an openly intersex actor playing an intersex person. Gallo adapted the screenplay into a feature-length film by the same name, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Gallo plays the lead role in the 2024 adaptation.

Ponyboi unfolds over the course of Valentine's Day in New Jersey, a young intersex sex worker must run from the mob after a drug deal goes sideways, forcing him to confront his past.​
